So Entitled...

Some of us in the department at the Holiday Party - January 2009I am a clinical care manager at Foundations Behavioral Health in the wrap around department – with close to 200 clients. My clients receive wrap around services in the home or school setting. This is for children with mental health, drug/alcohol or mental retardation. I open initial cases, staff & facilitate my current clients. Each client has a 4 or 6 month authorization period. Therefore, right before the authorization ends each client comes in for a psychological evaluation. The psychologists are allowed to have up to 5 days to complete the evaluation but sometimes weeks even a month can go by. If the authorization ends – the kid ends up not having services for that period of time. My clients suffer because psychologists can’t do their jobs. It really pisses me off that they can be so relaxed. This also reflects my job and how quickly things can be completed. If you can’t already tell my job can be tense & sometimes difficult with the amount of cases & things to be accomplished. The best thing about my job is the people I work with. I’ve met one of my best friends (& her husband) & one heck of an IT guy.

On a more exciting note, I’m going for a run tonight with Lindsay, maybe giving blood & then making cupcakes with Jen. Tomorrow, Mark & I will finish our paper mache monkey for Grace’s (his sister) birthday party. I’m ready for the week to be over…
